Welcome to Wokingham Children In Care Council

Your Second Voice

Welcome! We are a group of young people who are in care or who are care leavers and we represent all Wokingham’s children in care and care leavers.

We act as a second voice for all of Wokingham’s children in care and care leavers to improve their care experience. We try to help improve the lives of children in care by letting those in charge know what life in care is really like.

Together we make up the Children in Care Council, sometimes known as the CiCC, which is a place where young people in care can have their say on issues that matter to them. It also makes sure that they are listened to by people who make the decisions.

We meet regularly to put forward all the things we have heard you need changed. We meet with managers and Councillors and put forward what you tell us to the Corporate Parenting Board (a group of people who check that the service offered to children in care and care leavers is good enough).

We have links with other CiCCs across the region.

We also have fun and eat pizza!
