Hope - by Chloe age 13
There’s hope in front of you
If you open your eyes
And hold on tight
Then it will take you so far in life
And you should believe in hope
Because it is not just a word
It is something more
And even if you are good or bad
Hope will still come true
If you believe in hope!
They say I’m insecure,
Tell them I find confidence within myself,
They say I wear makeup to impress,
Tell them I am who I am for me,
They say makeup is a disguise to hide hurt and sadness,
Tell them that I am happy,
Because I’ve found the beauty within myself.
Bossy,
They stare and tell me that my friends are made from the enemies I gain.
Ugly,
They say my skin is the thing that will get me nowhere.
Unloved,
The last straw… you can mock my appearance and what you think is my personality.
I am loved.
I am someone whose flaws give me power,
Whose weakness gives me strength.
Tell them I am proud.
Tell them that I love being me.
